Suzuki Enlists Help of Fellow Japanese Automaker in EV Market

Suzuki is looking to compete with the makers of the LEAF in the EV market, and to do so, they've recruited the help of another Japanese automaker. More specifically, they've gained the aid of an automaker that also has a new EV coming out: Mitsubishi. This is a big move for Suzuki, and everyone here at Hart Suzuki is thrilled to hear about it.
But what exactly does this move mean? It means that Suzuki will have access to the same technology that powers the Mitsubishi i. Of course, the sharing goes both ways, and that means they'll expect something in return. To that effect, Suzuki will be supplying their fellow automaker with the platform behind the European-exclusive Swift.
if you ask us, this seems like a pretty fair deal all around. The Swift is an efficient vehicle that enjoys healthy sales, while the i is a ground-breaking EV that has yet to be tested in the eye of the public. Still, it has the potential to be a game-changer, and the fact that Suzuki has access to its platform speaks highly to the quality of their vehicles. After all, the i's reputation is on the line here.
When will we see Suzuki take advantage of this new EV tech? We're in for a bit of a wait, as the i itself is currently in a limited release. Still, you can rest assured that we'll keep you up to date on what Suzuki has planned. For now, however, you can learn more about the new Suzuki models that we carry here at 1341 East Main Street Salem, VA 24153, simply by dialing (877) 664-6256 or by submitting our contact form online.
